Threaded Flange
Threaded flanges are not suitable for pipelines with thin wall thicknesses because it is difficult to cut threads on such pipelines.

product description

Description

Threaded flanges are designed to use threads to connect flanges to piping. Threaded flanges are used to connect pipes together in a safe, leak-free manner. They are often used in industrial pipelines where the flow of fluids or gases needs to be carefully controlled. Threaded flanges are designed to screw onto the end of a pipe, creating a tight seal that prevents leaks and ensures that the pipe operates at maximum efficiency. In addition to being used to connect pipes together, threaded flanges can also be used to connect other piping components such as valves, pumps and fittings. This makes them a versatile component that can be used in a variety of different piping configurations.

Threaded flanges are typically made from materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel or alloy steel. The material used will depend on the specific requirements of the pipeline and its operating environment.

The main advantage of threaded flanges is that they do not require welding to connect to the pipe. The ability to form joints without welding is a considerable advantage and is critical in certain locations and industries such as gas stations, hexane plants, flammable liquid stores, and other explosive areas (Ex zones). If welding is not required, the potential source of ignition has been removed. Another advantage is that threaded flange fittings are faster and easier to assemble and disassemble than welded flange fittings.

Threaded flanges are not suitable for pipes with thin wall thicknesses, as it is more difficult to cut threads on such pipes. In some cases, sealing welds can be used to improve the integrity of the flange and reduce the potential for leakage. Adding a seal weld increases the integrity of the flange, but it also makes the joint more difficult to assemble and disassemble (because the weld makes it a permanent joint).

Advantages of threaded flanges

Threaded flanges have several advantages over other types of flanges, such as weld necks and slip-on flanges. These advantages include

Easy to install

Threaded flanges are easy to install. They can be screwed onto the end of the pipe without any welding or special tools. This makes them a popular choice for pipelines that require quick and efficient installation.

Cost-effective

Threaded flanges are the most affordable type of flange and require minimal maintenance. They are also very durable and can last for years without the need for replacement.

No Leakage

Threaded flanges provide a tight and secure seal that prevents leaks and pressure drops. This makes them ideal for applications where reliable sealing is critical.

Versatile

Threaded flanges are available in a range of sizes and materials, making them suitable for a wide range of applications and environments. They can be used in a variety of different pipe configurations, making them a popular choice for industrial piping of all shapes and sizes.

Applications of threaded flanges

Threaded flanges are used in a wide range of applications, from water and gas pipelines to chemical and petrochemical plants. Some common applications for threaded flanges include

Water and gas pipelines

Threaded flanges are commonly used in water and gas pipelines where they provide a tight, secure seal that resists leaks and pressure drops.

HVAC Systems

Threaded flanges are also used in HVAC systems, where they connect piping systems and provide a reliable seal against air leaks and pressure drops.

Chemical and petrochemical plants

Threaded flanges are commonly used in chemical and petrochemical plants to connect piping and valves that transport hazardous materials. They provide a tight and secure seal, which is critical to maintaining the integrity of the system.
